French Toast

Really wanted to make some french toast, but did not have the brioche - so I made that.
And the next step was to soak the brioche slices in the vanilla-egg mixture.
It tastes so good, you will ask yourself why did you not make it earlier !

Ingredients:
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup heavy cream (half & half or milk work well too)
1 TBSP sugar
1 teaspoon good vanilla
1 teaspoon orange liqueur if you have
4 slices of brioche
2 TBSP butter
***ground toasted nuts and strawberry jam if you like, for topping

Directions:
Even though there are so many ways to make this and soak it on both sides or on one side or overnight or you name it how - I believe that the way I did it works well. Really well.
Heat your skillet or griddle on medium for approx. 5 minutes and when hot, drop 1 TBSP butter to melt.
Place the eggs, cream, sugar, vanilla and the liqueur (if you are using) in a medium-large bowl and beat with a whisk for 1/2 minute.
Soak 2 of the brioche slices in the mixture and let sit for 10-15 seconds on each side.
Cook for 3 minutes or so on each side, on medium heat.
Repeat with the remaining butter and soaked slices.
Top it with nuts and jam or pancake syrup and serve warm.

It's so yummy !

  2. Incearca sa folosesti paine impletita sau o varietate de paine mai dulce sau chiar painea asta briosa care e o un fel de cozonac romanesc mai usor (nu are 100 de oua si mult unt cum suntem noi obisnuiti).
