Almond Green Beans

I love green beans, but most of all I LOVE ALMONDS. And so does Jeff, only he likes the smokehouse flavored ones. You know, the Blue Diamond ones you buy at the store.
So I combine the green beans with the almonds sometimes.
You don't really need a recipe for this, but just in case you are wondering what one needs, here are the essentials:

2 to 3 handfulls of green beans
about 1/2 cup slivered almonds or you can just use any nuts you like
salt
pepper
4 TBSP oil for the pan
grated cheese for finishing, optional

Directions:
Pull out a non stick small or medium size skillet, dump the nuts in and keep them on the stove at medium-high heat, stirring constantly.
If you don't, they will toast unevenly and possibly burn.
When you think they are almost done, drop in 1 to 2 TBSP butter and 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon pepper, still stirring constantly.
In about 5 mins or so, they should be done.
In the meantime, bring water to a boil in a medium size pan, salt the water a bit and dump the green beans in.
Boil them for 4 to 6 minutes, making sure they are still crisp, but cooked.
Fish them out of the water or use a collander and add them to the nuts, along with the oil, some salt and pepper, to taste.
Fry for 3 to 6 minutes, stirring at all times and taste every now and then.
Plate and add cheese if you want.
Enjoy !
