I miss the Quince...

I remember how my mom would make quince jam, jelly and I remember i loved to spread it on toast, with butter.
Now I don't know where I could get any from and that's really bad especially since I read a lot about this fruit HERE.
Oh well....
Anyone can help me find quinces here (in Oklahoma) ?

GUTUI in Romanian.

  1. Cool fruit...Reminds me of the pomegranate. I used to pick the unusual fruit from trees in southern California but never saw it anywhere else. Then one day Pom jumped on the scene, maybe something similiar will happen to the Quince

  2. Pom is good - but it is not pomegranate. Just like V8 - gives you the fruit and veggie servings, but it is not real fruit and veggies. Or is it?
We'll see, maybe fall/Thanksgiving will bring some of this fruit to the markets.

  3. Nice picture! While I don't know where you can find quince in Oklahoma, I thought you might be interested in a quince rose jam recipe. Let me know what you think!

  4. Hi Catalina,

I'm sorry to tell you that I have no idea where to get quince in Oklahoma. This is a tough fruit to find commercially, and I was surprised to find it in New York, where I live. Although, it is coming into season soon, and hopefully, it will make its way to your neck of the woods soon.

    Best,
