I used to cut 1/2 inch thick slices of potatoes and fry them in oil until they would get golden brown and delicious and then eat them with a garlic - sour cream dip.
But I thought I should cut them 1/4 inch thick and just brush them with oil and sprinkle salt and pepper and BAKE them instead of fry them.
So therefore I did just that and the results were amazing.
And it's only fair to share this !
Ingredients:
1 large potato per person, scrubbed well, skin left on and cut into 1/4 inch thick slices
1 -2 TBSP oil
salt
pepper
parchment paper
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 450 F.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lay the potato slices in it, brushing and seasoning them on both sides.
Cook the potatoes for apprx. 10-15 minutes on each side and serve warm.
Use a dip if you like.
