Beans and Bratwurst

Even though it seems I am not as active as I used to be, I am still cooking and I am still taking pictures and I will go on posting about the new recipes I try.
Sometimes when a recipe is repeated without any changes made to it, I feel there is no need to post about it.
I am busy with my studies so it might happen that I do not post as often, although I will try to do it daily, even if I might not succeed.
This is a recipe that used a special kind of sausage - bratwurst - which is my second favorite sausage in the world.
In Europe this (or any smoked or fried sausage for that matter) is often paired with beans and even sometimes with polenta, pickles on the side.
What I did was fry the sausage (make slits, cut each link in 2 and fry it with 1 TBSP of oil on high heat, with the lid one, for 2 to 5 minutes, keeping a very close eye on it), plate it along with the beans and sprinkle some fresh chopped parsley.

You can find the recipe for the beans HERE and another style HERE.

This time I used tomato paste even though I usually use tomato sauce.

Just makes for a richer dinner.

  1. sausage and polenta (I LOVE POLENTA, so many ways to flavor it) What a greta idea...

Can I ask why you slice the sausages? Have you tried just pricking the casing with a pin several times instead. when you slice the sausages, all the fat and juices run out... just a thought
